Irene Amelia Bechtold, age 85, of Havre de Grace, MD, died on July 17, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born in Churchville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter Thomas Sr. and the late Myrtle Bayless Thomas and the wife of 30 years of the late Robert William Bechtold. She was a civil service worker with the U.S. Government. She stayed in touch with her high school classmates and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Bechtold is survived by sons, Michael K. Wright of Churchville, MD and Robert W. Bechtold of Florida; daughters, Jacqueline A. Turner of Havre de Grace, MD, Michele R. Brunet of Sawyersville, IL, Pamela G. Lemoine of Pompano Beach, FL, and Joyce A. See of Aberdeen, MD; a step-daughter, Emily Collins of Clarksville, TN; a sister, Margaret Dayhoff of Bel Air, MD; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, William C. Kunkel and a step-son, Charles R. Bechtold.
